If you have been the victim of a sexual assault, or want to help someone who has, you have a right to help. No matter what the circumstances, looking after yourself and getting assistance, care and support is your right. There are some great support services available to victims and to those connected to victims, some of which are listed here. In my experience, going to the police and seeking the support of CASA, while in some ways being some of the hardest and most challenging things I have ever done, have also been very significant in assisting me to heal some of the trauma and hurt of the assault. However you choose to respond to your assault, know that it is your choice and your right to access these services if they can assist you.
